Where to play golf in Poland? 10 unique golf courses worth visiting
If you think that to play on a world-class facility you have to reserve a ticket to Scotland or sunny Andalusia, it is time to revise your plans. The Polish golf scene has matured greatly in recent times. In facilities scattered across the country, we will find everything: from brutally long, windy fairways resembling seaside links, to idyllic, forest-embedded parklands with greenery reminiscent of the famous Augusta.
The list below is not a ranking. It is a carefully selected list of 10 fascinating, highly diverse golf courses in Poland. Each of them tells a different architectural story and presents the player with completely different challenges.
1. Rosa Private Golf Club: An Enclave of Luxury in Silesia
Location: Konopiska near Częstochowa (Silesian Voivodeship)
Design: Hans-Georg Erhardt
Course Type: Parkland / Resort
When earthworks began in the early 21st century, the European trade press wrote about one of the largest golf investments in this part of Europe. Rosa, designed from the very beginning with exclusivity in mind, focuses on the uncompromising quality of its infrastructure and an intimate atmosphere.
The trademark of this full-length parkland is its strategically placed artificial lakes, cascades, and island greens. Playing here is not only a test of accuracy but, above all, a game of chess, where water ruthlessly punishes every wrong decision.
2. Modry Las Golf Club: Gary Player's Masterpiece Brushstroke
Location: Choszczno (West Pomeranian Voivodeship)
Design: Gary Player
Course Type: Parkland / Lake
If you are interested in golf course architecture, you know this address perfectly. Opened in 2009, Modry Las is the first project in Central and Eastern Europe by Gary Player himself. The golf legend received 130 hectares of pristine land by Raduń Lake, surrounded by oak and pine forest. What delights about Modry Las is the absence of "forced" architecture - the course looks as if it has been there for centuries.
Tournament Prestige: The facility holds the official status of "PGA National Poland" and is a serial winner of the World Golf Awards. In 2025, it stood in the race for the title of the best course in all of Europe!
3. Sierra Golf Resort: "Polish Augusta" by the Baltic Sea
Location: Petkowice near Wejherowo (Pomeranian Voivodeship)
Design: Cameron Sinclair
Course Type: Tree-lined parkland / Resort
Sierra proves that golf can be pure visual art. The resort fully deserves the nickname of the "Polish Augusta". Perfectly manicured fairways, fairy-tale green design, and rich floral plantings make a colossal impression on players.
Golf and Leisure: The resort lies on the edge of the Tricity Landscape Park and perfectly fits the definition of a luxury resort (apartments, swimming pool, relaxation area). It is a hit among Scandinavians and Brits landing in Gdańsk!
4. First Warsaw G&CC: Where the History Began
Location: Rajszew (Mazovian Voivodeship)
Design: Jan Sederholm
Course Type: Tree-lined / Open Parkland
Rajszew, located less than 30 kilometers from the center of the capital, is the cradle of Polish golf post-1989. Established in 1992, the club is located in a picturesque old riverbed of the Vistula. What attracts players most to the oldest Polish course is the uniqueness of the holes - the golden rule here is "no two holes are the same".
Narrow forest corridors transform smoothly into open spaces. Thanks to its proximity to the capital, First Warsaw has served for three decades as the business heart of Polish golf, where networking blends seamlessly with sports competition.
5. Sobienie Królewskie Golf & Country Club: British Style and a Passion for Flying
Location: Sobienie Szlacheckie near Warsaw (Mazovian Voivodeship)
Design: Ford Golf Design Group (Jonathan Davison, Jeremy Ford)
Course Type: Links-inspired / Resort
Sobienie Królewskie is an example of bringing British golf traditions to the Polish lowlands. Officially opened in June 2012, the 18-hole course was created to recreate the atmosphere of a classic links course, offering players conditions close to those in the British Isles. A unique element of the entire complex, extending beyond the sport itself, is its close proximity to a local airfield and flight school, giving this place an original, dynamic character.
Located south of the capital, the facility is characterized by a sandy base, which keeps playing conditions good for most of the year. The designers diversified the Mazovian landscape by shaping undulating fairways, numerous rustic bunkers, and dense fescue roughs. Although the course is inland, the open space means that the wind is a major strategic challenge here, forcing golfers to plan their shots precisely on the gently sloping greens.
Interesting Fact: The club has a very active youth section, which regularly competes for the highest honors in the country, exemplified by winning the silver medal in the Polish Junior Club Championship after a fierce playoff. The facility hosts prestigious youth competitions, such as the Sobienie Junior Open by Golf Styl (included in the European Golf Rankings), as well as organizing its own Przesiep Open tournament.
6. Wrocław Golf Club: Military History and Sporting Challenges
Location: Kryniczno near Wrocław (Lower Silesian Voivodeship)
Design: Jeremy Pern
Course Type: Parkland / Links-inspired
Wrocław Golf Club, which operated for many years under the name Toya Golf & Country Club, is a 27-hole complex located just a dozen minutes' drive north of the center of Lower Silesia's capital. The course, opened in 2006, was built on the grounds of a former military training ground. The designer successfully incorporated elements of the former military infrastructure into the golf course architecture, such as characteristic land depressions and craters, which today serve as natural obstacles and a unique landscape feature.
The main championship layout designed by English architect Jeremy Pern combines features of a windy, open links-style course with classic, wooded parkland sections. The terrain is enhanced with artificial hills and numerous ponds, which come into play especially in the middle of both nines. Due to the open space, wind is a frequent and demanding aspect here, making a round from the back tees require high precision, while the shorter tees allow for recreational play for golfers with higher handicaps.
Interesting Fact: The venue has made its mark in Polish golf history as hosts of high-level international tournaments, including the DHL Wrocław Open from the prestigious Challenge Tour series. In addition to the 18-hole championship course, players have a separate 9-hole par-30 academy course at their disposal, designed specifically for improving short game play and training beginners.
7. Postołowo Golf Club: A Brutal Test for the Brave
Location: Postołowo near Gdańsk (Pomeranian Voivodeship)
Design: Jeremy Turner
Course Type: Parkland / Championship
Also known as Gdańsk Golf & Country Club, Postołowo is a legendary course, known primarily for its monstrous length. The architect created a layout that measures over 7,100 meters from the furthest tees. The club proudly highlights that it is the longest par-72 course in Europe. As an interesting side note - it competes yearly for the title of longest course with another German golf course. Both increasingly expand their tee box infrastructure to win this rivalry.
This is not a place for a relaxing Sunday stroll. British magazines often refer to it as a "brutal layout for professionals." Having hosted European senior championships and numerous international tournaments, Postołowo represents the ultimate test of distance and accuracy in Polish golf.
8. Kalinowe Pola Golf Club: Two Worlds in One
Location: Kalinowo (Lubusz Voivodeship)
Design: Professional design team (opened 2010)
Course Type: Parkland / Woodland
We end our journey in the heart of the Lubusz Lake District. Kalinowe Pola is a modern facility that charms with its concept of "two courses in one". The designers cleverly split the eighteen into two completely different worlds: the first nine winds through a dense forest, while the second opens up to a vast space of lakes.
Thanks to its location - in the triangle between Berlin, Poznań, and Wrocław - and excellent accommodation options, Kalinowe Pola has become the perfect place for a longer destination golf trip.
Since 2023, Kalinowe Pola has also been Poland's first 27-hole golf resort – a new links-style nine beautifully complements the forest-parkland eighteen.
9. Amber Baltic Golf Club: A Classic on Wolin Island
Location: Kołczewo (West Pomeranian Voivodeship)
Design: Hans-Georg Erhardt
Course Type: Parkland / Coastal
Amber Baltic is a return to historical roots. Opened in the early 90s (the first nine started in 1991), the facility is a charming parkland full of ponds and hills. Its location on Wolin Island, at the intersection of the Baltic Sea and Woliński National Park, gives it a unique, coastal microclimate.
In addition to the championship eighteen, players have a 9-hole executive course (Baltic Course) at their disposal. Amber Baltic is historical foundation of Polish golf, which has nurtured many champions over the years and hosted dozens of tournaments of the highest national rank.
10. Sand Valley Golf Resort: A Warmian Breeze of Raw Links
Location: Pasłęk (Warmian-Masurian Voivodeship)
Design: Tony Ristola, Lassi Pekka Tilander
Course Type: Inland links
When Sand Valley opened in 2008, many rubbed their eyes in disbelief. The architects decided to create something resembling a classic Scottish coast deep inland. The result is a breathtaking course stretching over 80 hectares of undulating terrain. You won't find dense forests narrowing the field of play here. Instead, there are massive, raw waste areas and wide, wind-swept fairways.
Distinction: Sand Valley is the precursor of the stay & play concept in Poland (luxury villas on the greens with pools, jacuzzi, etc.). The course regularly features in the elite rankings of Golf World, currently placing in the Top 100 courses of continental Europe.
Your Move on the First Tee
Poland proves that there is no single, universal definition of a perfect course. We have raw links, technical parklands, brutal tournament arenas, and resorts bursting with luxury. Each of these ten addresses guarantees excellent preparation and beautiful architecture.
The only question is: where will you step up to your tee this coming weekend?
